heyshitfaaace asked: I see the similarity in yours and Schiele's work, but I seriously love yours so much! Everyone has to find their niche and experiment and learn, silly anon
Exactly. Besides, Schiele received the same criticism from imitating the idioms of Klimt.
Anonymous asked: Why does all of your recent stuff look exactly like Egon Schiele's work? Almost precisely like it.
I don’t go to school for art as of yet, thus the best way for me to study is through immersing myself in one artist for a short time. I saw problems with my grasp on form, or abstracting form, and saw solace in Schiele. Though the form conception was a derivative of Schiele’s work (specifically 1910-1911), all of the models were live—meaning myself or friends. This gave room for development.
But i think those days of direct imitation are over. I hope no one took these last months’ pieces as anything more than studies. I haven’t yet figured it out.
